Biblical Principles Governing Stewardship

What guidance does the Bible offer about finances, stewardship, debt, and the money-related concerns we all face? Tithing, or giving 1/10th of our income to the church was the law in the Old Testament as stated in Leviticus 27:30, "A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord." Once we have grown to the point of tithing, then continued growth is afforded toward the teachings of Jesus who said to his disciples in Matthew 10:8, "...freely ye have received, freely give." In Matthew 19:21, he tells a young man who asks how to gain eternal life, "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me."

Pledging Your Monetary Support

Like any other organization, we do a budget every year. Why do we need to do a budget? We must plan a budget to assure that we can afford to pay for all the expenses every year -- staff salaries, building maintenance, grounds upkeep, children's programs, meals provided, support to needy, missions, etc. Your pledge of financial support, lets us know how much we can allot to each program and whether we will be able to expand services in the areas God is guiding us. Pledging and following through on your commitment is crucial to the financial success of this church. Please give prayerful consideration to an amount that fits your budget and God's call to you, then complete and submit a pledge card. We (you and the church) will apprectiate it immensely!

Stewardship: Earn. Save. Give.

John Wesley boils fiscal responsibilities down to just these three rules: Earn all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can. Sounds simple, right? Yes, but not easy, especially in today’s culture of consumerism. Once you have decided upon your level of giving, complete the financial commitment card below. We further ask that once you have completed your financial commitment card, you commit to a volunteering service area by following instructions on our "volunteering" page by selecting it from the menu at the top of any page on this site, or simply click here.
