Mission:

To Help Men Grow In Christ, So Others May Know Christ.

Activities

At the national level, The UMM have chosen five youth agency programs to show how we might use civic youth-serving agencies as an outreach ministry within our community:

Boy Scouts of America
Girl Scouts of the USA
Big Brothers Big Sisters (Amachi Partnership)
Camp Fire USA
4-H

These agencies offer a unique opportunity to minister to young people. The five were chosen because of their Christian teachings, long-standing connection with local congregations and their recognition of the God and Country program. The CFUMC United Methodist Men support these groups.

UMMen at First Methodist:

The CFUMC Men meet the second Tuesday of each month (except in Summer) at 6:30 pm in the Crossroads Cafe for supper, devotional and service. Our men are not alien to the world of cooking. Every year in February they provide a pancake breakfast that is fit for a king -- golden brown pancakes with butter, syrup and sausage. Normally served from 6:00 am until noon. This is the primary fundraising activity of our UMM's group.

Also, annually this robust group puts on the ritz a little with a "Ladies Night Out" to give our ladies a small break. The men go all out to show appreciation for the ladies by serving a dinner fit for a queen!

Finally, third of three annual main events is "Steak Night" where a delicious steak with all the trimmings is cooked and served by the United Methodist Men's group, normally at the January meeting to kick-off the new year.

The current President of our UMM is Bill Chism. Please contact him through our church office or email him for further information about this group.

One of the activities of Clanton Methodist Men is the Annual Pancake breakfast.
UMM recently began a program called 4:19 Bass Club. Based on Matthew 4:19, the 4:19 Bass Club exists to create camaraderie among fellow followers of Christ by promoting the sport of bass fishing through friendly, competitive, low-cost tournaments. Contact Mike Graham at 294-1882 or Leslie Eiland at 294-0095 for more information. Their recent tournament was won by Barry and Mike with fish similar to these.

4:19 Bass Club sponsors several fishing tournaments every year. See this video for more.

UMM also supports Habitat for Humanity in Chilton County by providing volunteer labor now and then.
